The Challenge
To show how technology can make a difference to the lives of people in emerging economies through IBM’s “Smarter Cities” programme.
The Approach
This film was shot entirely on location in Rio de Janeiro working with a creative team from Ogilvy and Mather and the client in New York and Sao Paolo. We were keen to make the city itself a character in the film. We sourced contributors ranging from a football fan in a favela to a surfer to the Mayor of Rio. We had a small mobile crew and used a mixture of portable cameras and lenses to create a strong filmic look for the piece.
Result
In only five days the international crew produced a film that went on to win an award at the New York Film Awards
